Learn about the life and work of Gilbert Keith Chesterton, Catholic journalist, novelist, essayist, apologist, lecturer, playwright, beloved husband, friend, adoptive uncle, and even potential saint at this one-day conference.

The Church of Our Lady of Grace and St Edward is just across the road.

The Conference will be held on Saturday 13th June, at Chiswick Catholic Centre, 2 Duke's Avenue, W4 2AE.

The Conference begins at 9:30 am and ends at 4 pm.

Booking is necessary - please don't just turn up on the day!

Speakers

Fr. Spencer Howe

Fr Howe hails from America, where he is chaplain to the American Chesterton Society, and priest in the diocese of Minneapolis. He will be speaking on Chesterton as a “Scrappy Evangelist”.

Clare McCullough
Clare is the foundress of the Good Counsel Network, a Pro-Life pregnancy centre (goodcounselnetwork.com). She will be talking about GKC’s long and happy marriage to Frances.

Fr. Simon Heans

Raised Jehovah’s Witness, becoming an Anglican vicar, and then a Roman Catholic Priest and chaplain to the Shrine of St. Augustine, Ramsgate, Fr. Heans will be discussing Chesterton’s poetry.

Stuart McCullough 
The president of the Catholic G.K. Chesterton society and a convert to Catholicism, thanks to GKC. His speech will focus on Chesterton’s most loved creation, Father Brown.

Fr. Gabriel Diaz

Fr. Diaz is a Catholic priest from Argentina and has recently translated Chesterton’s epic poem The Ballad of the White Horse into Spanish. He will tell us about setting Chesterton’s work to music.

Nathanael McCullough
Is a part-time tutor and secretary of the Catholic Chesterton Society. His talk will provide an overview of Chesterton’s life.

What to Bring

A notebook and pen would probably be valuable, since there will be plenty of talks.

Lunch will be provided. If you have allergies, let us know in the booking and we will do our best to accommodate you!
